The two recipes you’ll be baking/creating together are a carrot cake and a zucchini bread. Both of these options aim to use vegetables to include a healthier option to baking and use fresh vegetables from your garden or a local farmers market.
-Handicraft- You will be planting seeds in a starter cup of outside in your garden. Included are garden labels that you will laminate and use for your personal garden with your little ones. Alternatively, you may use these garden tags as a matching game as well, if you don't plan to make a garden of your own.
-Handicraft- Your little one will be using a natural turmeric paint and painting a carrot page from this study.
-Scripture memorization pages (meant to hang in your homeschool room). The bible verse for this unit comes from Isaiah 58:11. ”The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun scorched land and will strengthen your fame. You will be like a well-watered garden…”
-Handwriting and copywork to help with your child’s penmanship development. This includes several sets of manuscript handwriting worksheets.
-Math- Your child will be counting the number of zucchini and beets on a page and writing the number.
-Letter and word recognition-Not only does the matching game help build letter and sound recognition, but there are seperate pages for your child to build upon their sounds. These pages have a carrot, tomatoes and lettuce.
-Play matters: Play for this unit helps develop a love for being in the kitchen and learning life skills. Through dramatic play, children are able to explore their own thoughts and feelings to foster character development as well. They can make their own decisions on what they prefer to create with this pie creating activity. They will be assembling pumpkin pie, rhubarb pie, zucchini pie, and sweet potato pie.
-Garden Maze- Your child will be working on problem solving skils with a garden maze.
-Garden Math- Help your child count and circle the correct number of items in the garden math included.
