Thanking God for Second Chances
I will be starting a series on how we are homeschooling with a newborn. It’s a question I get asked quite frequently when we add another baby to our family. Some of you may know, we just welcomed our precious baby, making us a family of six. In this series I will give tips and tricks that I’ve learned along the way.
Today I’ll be talking about setting aside one-on-one time with each of your children. It’s difficult when you have multiples to set the time a side to play with each individual child you have. Even if its 10 minutes out of your day, it allows them to see that they’re still special. For each of our children, I pick a day of the week to spend with them. That way it’s spaced throughout the whole week and I’m only committing to one child each day.
After baby number 4 came along, our third little one had a hard time with jealousy so I started with him. Today we took 20 minutes together while everyone else worked on their independent studies. We read from our Bible Force Hero’s Devotional and painted together.
We learned about Samson and the second chance that God gave to him. We then talked about God’s grace and read from the book of Romans. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 Thank God for Jesus and his suffering for our sins. I fall and disobey far too often just as Samson did. I am nothing without His grace.
He thoroughly enjoyed our time together and can’t wait to play again next week. Just the two of us.
